Sauna Mamas — a bathhouse taking shape in a former Ministry of Defence building
A social bathhouse — heat, cold water, and the connection that comes with them — is being engineered into a former Ministry of Defence building on Vyner Street, Bethnal Green. Designed by Studio VK, it is one of the more demanding commercial fit-outs a building can ask for: rooftop plant threaded through the building’s original service shafts, new drainage cut through military-grade concrete, and a long line of specialist trades coordinated in phases.
